The Chase

The second in the Cage series, The Chase is about power games between men and women and the circular dance where the hunter/seducer becomes the hunted/seduced. The cage motif symbolises relationship entrapment, particularly how women can feel disempowered and isolated in marriage. The painting won the Inverlochy Art School overall painting award in its 2004 annual exhibition.
