Heaphy River Dreaming
I have walked the Heaphy Track on the rugged West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island twice now. It is the most amazing walk as the landscape changes from bush, to alpine, to rainforest to rocky coast. I experienced the landscape as primitive, timeless – a feeling of ancient power, particularly along the river itself.
