Driftwood near Karamea

The Heaphy Track is one of New Zealand’s great walks on the top of the South Island. I’ve walked it three times. This painting depicts the coastal section of the track where it comes down from the alpine region through rainforest to emerge on the rugged West Coast, north of Karamea township. I used corrugated card and old wallpaper to create the driftwood texture.
